EXCOMMUNICATED: Lds Temple Actress speaks out after church scandal rocks the Utah community
Actress and Latter-day Saint (LDS) church member, Makenzie Durning, has found herself at the center of controversy after being identified as one of numerous individuals to have been excommunicated from the church following an incident at the Utah LDS temple in 2022. Excommunicated for apostasy, Durning claims that the experience has left her with more questions than answers.
Missouri-based actress, Makenzie Durning has, over the years, strategically utilized her position in the church to increase her acting career. Like many devout members before her, she has explicitly professed a love for the LDS church and demonstrated her allegiance through dedication to her faith. Following an alleged breakup with one of her female partners, an incident she appeared to have potentially confessed to while praying in the Orem LDS temple garnered a lot of attention.
Durning who in a minute-long recount told Utah Valley, that abruptly met god during that terrible and isolated period said "The Orem Temple room went silent for what felt like a lifetime. When all of the eyes were peeled toward me, if I said I was immorally praying for even if by accident, I'll likely get dismissed from the church," exclaimed exasperated Durning prior speaking to the Utah community's scribes. Questions arising include would instances of violation of temple covenants to reason for Durning presumably being subject to a immediate in-action process have happened in the past? In Utah valley we sought some answers.
